Hi everyone!!! Today we will be making Scribble Drawings. This is an awesome art project to do with your family because all you need to know is how scribble and scribbling is the way we started to learn to draw and write, so almost any age person can join in. Importantly, there is no wrong way to scribble.
So call over your friends or family (or whole class) because this is going to be a great experience!
Things you will need: Some paper, a pencil, your lovely hands, and maybe some colored pencils or markers.
All right lets get started!!!!
Step 1: Draw scribbles all over your paper, if it helps you can close your eyes.
Step 2: Once you have scribbled, you can try to find shapes or animals or anything that you see. At first I found a claw, which became a boxy
crab in my scribbled lines.
Step 3: Now that you found shapes you can make them easier to see be shading or coloring them in. You can use the edge of your pencil by turning it on its side to make thicker pencil lines or even add color.
Step 4: If you are having trouble finding a shape, maybe try turning your paper upside down and around. You can also add more lines and see what happens. I tend to find one thing and start to build out the picture from there. In this one, I saw the head of the mouse queen first, then the eyes and ears. I added the eyes lashes and more whiskers and started to add color to make the character more obvious.
Step 5: You can continue to develop your picture drawing one part then the next until the entire page is full. Or you can always create an incredible design by coloring in the shapes.
Step 6: You can even cut out your character and tell a story with them. My sister made this little mouse with a trumpet. She found the trumpet first and then saw the mouse. Then we made a family of mouses, and made a story with them like they were toys.
Ta da!!! You have your very own Scribble Drawing! This is a good project when you get stuck or need a new way to set started with drawing. Give it a try... remember you can't do it wrong. I hope you like this project!
Chanin and Ceilidh first introduced me to this but you have taken it to the next level. Great idea given new life.
Thank you to both of you!!!
That is so clever! Great job! Anyone can be an artist. Thanks, Seneca!
